This morning I received a phone call from what I thought was a prospective employer whom I thought truly rejected me - Culver City. This is the one I had to call 3 people after 3 weeks after an 'unofficial' offer email from their HR person. The prospective direct report left a voice message with an apology for the misunderstanding. They are continuing to interview more people before they decide. I believe they all do not know what each other are doing for their organization and ultimately corporate-wise. There is something wrong with this picture. Fortunately I have applied for 9 more positions since that bad news call last week. One of them called back - NY state and another was MedSys Group calling to see if I can work as an Integration Architect in either of 2 states. Then there was an email message from another place I applied to asking for my time to speak about the position I applied to. The bad news doesn't seem so bad now that I have moved on.
Meanwhile, the other list of positions I applied for are still pending any correspondence. I think the emotional roller coaster will continue; I just need to know how to stabilize it after all these months of frustration.

Back to the Drawing Board
2 job rejections this week. Culver City pulled back the offer for financial reasons and say will call me back when they have more funds for the position. Right. Another day of decompression while applying for 3 more online jobs. One of them automatically rejecting me since I didn't qualify for an attribute in a question.
What I thought was a rejection from a work colleague who I thought was a working friend was simply her preoccupation of moving back to TX from the CA job. Thank you Marsha for being there for me :)
Camille has been the best person to support me. She has pushed me to apply for unemployment online so I did it while on the phone with her. I actually found the right url on their website to apply all the way through with back date of last date working, quarterly gross income and all the other data needed. Another waiting game for state of CA...still waiting for my MediCal card applied back in January of this year. Time is slow when you wait for benefits of life but goes in a speed of light when you don't think about it all.

Day Trip up Central Coast
Today was a wonderful day. Drove up Highway 1 to Salmon Creek Falls and Gorda, CA w/Dave Edwards. These past 6 months have been very frustrating and I had to break out of my prison and stretch my ligaments. After climbing up to the top of the falls and nearly falling flat on my face coming down the slopes, we enjoyed a wonderful sandwich from Sebastian's in Gorda while watching the whales spouting out at sea.
I am hoping Culver City will come through with the final job offer this week. It would be a great start for the Spring with employment. With that will bring on more stress to find a new place to live and move my household. Meanwhile I am struggling with the fate of the sewage backup in my home in Ventura while my tenants spend a night in hotel for tomorrow's street digging to correct the lateral. One more thing to prove I am not winning is possibly going to really break me.
Here is a proud seal showing off.

Reviving the Blog
Hello - this is a test to see if this blog is really still alive. Anyone out there to see this post? It's been 3 years and I want to post my personal thoughts here and see if anyone follows me and my thoughts.

Nature Pictures
Taken while driving along highway 58 east of Santa Margarita. I was looking for wildflowers but saw horse ranches instead.
Then there are the beached Elephant seals along the shores of San Simeon
A skinny baby on shore
A male seal backing off when we were spotted
Montana de Oro - my place of worship; this image down at the water's edge climbed down the cliff to get here.
Crashing up on the breaker; the sounds and the sights of the water is what I am there for.
Recovering Access to this Blog and my Life!
I am so frustrated that I cannot access this blog on a regular basis. I even sent out a couple of security check messages but miraculously I am in sending this update!
A lot has happened since January. I have moved out of San Luis Obispo, quit my current job to start another soon and moved to Grover Beach, CA. So my physical location is in one beach and my mailing address now in another beach - Pismo. Always in a state of flux. Also lost access to my primary yahoo email account so I am lucky I am here blogging right now.
In a couple weeks I will be with my cats and bringing them back from Florida. That was a very long 2 1/2 years without them. Volunteering at the local Humane Society has brought me back to being around cats, I hope my allergies will not flare up with them on no corn gluten meal diet.
Volunteering at the local playhouse has been an experience working in the theater. Also gives me the opportunity to see who is in the community and free snacks the time I volunteer :)
Now I am going to see if this posts and soon posting pics again....see you all if I get back into here again.

Sprinkling of Cows on the Velvety Green Hills
Driving down through the Central Coast counties back to Ventura sure puts me in a happy place. With all the rains we have had since the 2011 new year, the hills are populated with happy cows of all colors roaming up and down the slopes. A reflection of life makes me think of a bucket list; I have done and seen lots of places that I wanted to but will need to keep that list for details before time runs out.
1. Hang gliding or motor sailing (?) along the beach
2. Drive a fancy European car and speed on the Audobon
3. Go back to Australia for a visit at least one more time
4. One more trip back to Korea
5. Tour into Grand Canyon
6. New Year's Eve in Time Square
Today I realized that I can survive very well by myself in USA - familiar settings, culture, etc. But when it comes to survival and independence living in a foreign and desireable country, I cannot survive on my own. Others that do enjoy the foreign lifestyle experience have a partner and thus support each other in the process. My journey was a loner attempt. Such a paradox but it proves to me how countries treat "foreigners". They will take care of their own before anyone else - you have to be a special case to make it big in a 'foreign' country. The Beatles, Australian actors, Madonna, Gwynneth Paltrow; I think you got the picture. Little old me - trying to make it in a small software provider organization, and a minority at that - WTF? And I am not as young as I used to be for all the stress that goes into changes.
Well, things do happen for a reason - I gained the opportunity to live in the paradise where there is sprinkling of cows in the velvetry green hills. Being in this small cowboy town I seem to meet different people easier. I hang out at Louisa's place for breakfast and Firestone Grill for Monday Night Football. These places are where the college kids hang out. Thus my symbol of youth and exposure to college life. Louisa's is always busy so I eat at the counter. Last weekend I sat next to a Psychology Professor who has gone back to limited technology in his life, then a wild swinger party owner; in the same seat! What a contrast. It's facinating how much I would have missed if I tried to stay as 'foreigner' in a country that didn't really want me anyway. Guess I have to take care of and support myself in friendly territories. Thank you happy cows!
Note: I know anonynous readers are seeing this - identify yourself or else find your own happy cows!
